If any of you have been near me in the past 3 months, you will know that I have had a stuffy/sneezy/runny nose constantly. People will call me on the phone and ask me if I am sick. I will be at work taking calls or just sitting at my desk and I sound like an idiot because "I'm not sick, it's just allergies." Well, I am sick of it! I want to be able to breathe out of my nose like a normal person and not shoot snot rockets all over my clothes, sheets, you name it (disgusting, I know). I feel like a 2 year old whose mom has to constantly keep tissues in her pocket to wipe off my snotty face. IT'S FLAT OUT RIDICULOUS!
That being said, I am throwing in the towel and going to visit a doctor who actually specializes in ugly allergies. I've tried every over-the-counter allergy medicine out there, and nothing is working. So, if any of you have had any run-ins with the following doctors, please let me know how the experience was.

Goodbye Summer
Well, summer is over and I am due on a post since I haven't written in a while. To keep it simple, I'll list the top 5 most memorable things that happened during the warm months.
1. My sisters and their kids came to Utah to visit. I had not seen my not-so-new-anymore niece and nephew yet and it had been about 9 months since seeing the rest of the family. I had a lot of fun! All of the munchkins are just too stinkin' cute. From purposely scaring themselves by walking past the neighbor's scary dog to saying some of the most random things I've ever heard, these piglets proved that they are the best neices and nephews one could ask for!
Best conversation ever:
Isaac: Cathy, what happened to your boyfriend?
Cathy: We broke up.
Isaac: I know, but whyyyyy?
Cathy: Because boys stink!
Isaac: Ah man! (long pause) You know what you should do?
Cathy: What?
Isaac: Next time you get a boyfriend and he stinks, you should go up to him and say "I'm breaking up with you, because YOU STINK!"
Cathy: So, Isaac, do you still have a girlfriend?
Isaac: No, she broke up with me.
Cathy: Whyyyyy?
Isaac: Because I broke a plant at recess. So she came up to me and said "You broke that plant, so I'm breaking up with you!"
2. My birthday celebration lasted about 4 days! I was so lucky! It began with pedicures with my cousin, Natalie, on Thursday night. Pedis are ALWAYS fun and relaxing, but I always seem to freak out when getting my feet scrubbed with the pumice stone thing. It tickles SOO much! Friday night, I went to sushi with some friends and then over to the Hogswallow for a drink before I had to hit the sack, as I was waking up very early the next day to take a test. Saturday, the actual day, I woke up and headed downtown to meet up with my co-workers for breakfast at The Other Place before hitting the CEP exam. After taking the test (which I found out that I passed!) a bunch of us went over to Lumpy's and had some celebratory drinks. Some turned into many, especially because everyone felt that the now-26-year-old needed to have an extremely great time since she had to take a test on her b-day. A couple hours later, I made it home, just in time to shower and meet up with Brooke to go see STOMP! downtown. I highly recommend seeing STOMP! any chance you get. I don't know what it is, but I always come out of the show with perma-grin. Sunday was the wrap-up on the celebrations. I made dinner for my sisters and friends and we all just hung out and caught up. I must say that my lime-cilantro rice and the burrito bar was a hit! The rice was pretty easy to make -- let me know if you want to know how I rocked it. I also met up with Amy for a somewhat-joint birthday dinner, which was awesome because I hadn't seen her cute lil face in a long time. I must say: Best birthday week ever!
3. Although it's work-related, I have to say that my 2nd trip to Georgia was a large part of my summer. I stayed in GA for 2 weeks. The first week I was there with a couple of other people from the Utah office, Jessica and Chase. The 3 of us had a pretty good time racking up the corporate card and buying beer on a Sunday (not so legal to purchase alchy on Sun) from the crazy CVS lady. The day that Jess and Chase left, I went camping at Lake Lanier with a few people in the GA office. When I woke up and unzipped my tent, I saw the scariest sight I've ever seen in my life -- a huge spider and spider web in the corner of the door. Luckily it was on the opposite side from where the zipper opened. After about 5 minutes of sheer panic, I talked myself into sneaking out of the tent as efficiently as possible. Once I was on the outside, the spider was pretty cool. I was still shaky and hated the thought of it being there, and so close and huge, but mustered up the courage to take a better look at it. A couple of the guys decided to help feed Joe (I think that's what we named him) these really huge ants that are all over. They'd pick up an ant and throw it in the massive web. As soon as the spider sensed the ant moving, it'd pounce on it and whip out the spinners and completely entrap the ant. It was actually pretty amazing. I never realized how fast spiders work their little web-makers!
4. Summer concerts are so much fun. I just love being outside and listening to good music while watching crazy people and hanging out with friends. Every Thursday night, beginning in July, there are free concerts downtown. This year, there were some pretty good bands and tons of people. The only times I didn't make it to a concert was when I was out of town. Otherwise, I made it a point to go -- that's what summer's all about! I also went to the Jack Johnson concert a couple weeks ago, and that was a blast! It took us about 4 hours of driving time to get out to Usana Amphitheatre and back, but I still enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the other concert I had been planning to attend for the past 5 months ended up getting cancelled. If you haven't heard, the sax player for Dave Matthews Band passed away a few weeks ago. I am pretty bummed about missing the concert, but because that sounds selfish, I won't elaborate! I still have one concert to go to next week, and I can only imagine that it will be amazing!
5. Labor Day in St. George wrapped up the summer. I got to spend time with a few friends that I have not seen in a while, got to know other friends better than I ever would have imagined, and met a couple of new friends along the way. I also got the chance to finally understand why people love books on tape so much. My oh my do they make time fly when you're on a road trip! I am not hugely into politics, but we listened to Stephen Colbert's I am America (and So Can You!) and I can honestly say there was not a dull moment. I laughed so hard! After getting to St. G, we hung out by the pool, went hiking, visited the Pah Tempe hot springs, and had a good time.
I am so happy to have the friends and family that I do. You are all so freakin great! I can't wait to see what fall, winter, and spring have to offer (although I'm more excited for summer to start again next year)!
