Don't worry, you all still have a couch to sleep on when you come visit (yes, when; not if). She was a smart pooch and unzipped the cushion instead of ripping it to make her mess.

Let's Play Catch Up!

So, for those of you who don't know, I made it to California! It's been a busy couple of months moving and adjusting to the new job and apartment. The holidays were good. I did not travel anywhere to see family, but still had a good time.
One of my friends from Georgia came to visit me last week and we took my poochy, Roxy, to an off-leash dog park at the beach. It was a lot of fun and Roxy was in puppy heaven. Here are a couple of videos for your viewing pleasure.

One Of These Places Is Not Like The Other

 

 

One of these places just doesn't belong (in my life anymore).

That's right, I'm moving to the bay area and I leave in less than two weeks! I have enjoyed Georgia, but an opportunity came up and I had to take it. I am extremely excited, as San Francisco has always been on my list of places to live (GA wasn't).

Just Things

I feel like any time people ask me “what’s new?” I have the same answer of “not much.” So, here’s an idea of what could be considered new since I got back from my trip to Utah.

Over Memorial Day weekend, I went to see Sarah and her fam in Columbus. Sar and Nate just bought a house and we spent the weekend cleaning, moving and taking care of Sweet Baby James. I have not been around such a small baby in a while – in fact, over the past few years, I’ve been terrified of even holding them while they’re so little. I had to get over that one really quickly and now I miss the little guy (and his big brothers and sister).

For the Fourth of July, I ended up taking a last-minute trip to Chicago. It was much needed and it was a lot of fun. The day before I came home, we decided to venture by train into the big city and play tourists. Addyson and Olivia were dead-set on sitting upstairs on the train, so I volunteered to sit with them. Here’s an excerpt from a conversation that took place.

Olivia: I don’t even remember closing my eyes last night before I fell asleep.

Me: You must have been really tired.

Addyson: Well sometimes we stay up after we’re supposed to go to bed.

Me: You do? What do you do when you’re not going to sleep?

Olivia: We sometimes stay up and tell secrets.

Me: What kind of secrets?

Addyson: That’s why they’re secrets. We can’t tell you. And, sometimes I just lie in bed and think.

Me: Think about what?

Addyson: Just things - Like getting my finger snapped off by a mouse trap.

Those girls sure are random, but I love ‘em to pieces! I’m supposed to go to a conference in Chicago in September, so hopefully I’ll get to see them again pretty soon.

I’m going to blame the yellow tint of these pictures on the lighting in the train – not my amazing phone. Ha.

I showed this one to one of my friends in GA and she noted that Olivia looks a lot like me. No wonder I think she's so cute!

Yummy Stuff!

I still don't understand the hype behind almond milk, but I picked some up last night and holy moly -- it's delicious! I highly recommend it.
